About Me

Michelle Ayn Tessensohn is a therapist, mentor, and contributing author to Ancestral Wisdom: Sacred Stories of Contact, Healing, and Care, supporting personal and cultural healing internationally.

Her practice draws on over two decades of formal training: beginning with Zen Shiatsu certification (2002), which she practised and taught for ten years, before training as a counsellor and coach. During this period she began guiding meditation circles, later completing the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification through UC Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center (2021).

A deep commitment to generational and trauma healing led her to Family Constellations training (2018), certification as an Ancestral Lineage Healing practitioner (2021), and certification in the NeuroAffective Relational Model — NARM (2024).

Michelle weaves together indigenous wisdom and Eastern philosophy with Western psychology and somatic approaches to create a practice that is trauma-sensitive, inclusive, and culturally attuned. She works with clients navigating inherited trauma, identity, and the stories carried across generations.

She brings clarity, warmth, and a quiet steadiness to her work.

Practising at Essence Rooms, Singapore’s original self-service therapy room provider (est. 2017).
